Rep. St. Fleur says City not taking States money for cops

Marie St. Fleur was in Dorchester this week speaking to an older crowd where she was questioned about the violence in the city. She said that the City has received money from the State, but that the city isn't using the money for police staffing.

I wonder if this is just pass the buck politics or if there is something really going on here.

dont think there is anything going on here. Marie St. Fleur didn't say the city isnt using the money for polic staffing. She said the Legislature increased local aid to Boston and that city officials determine how to use that money. She also said police were given addition money for community policing grants. I believe she also mentioned she would check to make sure that the state grants are being distributed to the city as specified in this year's budget.
